For Buyers & Sellers in Ontario
Next steps
- Download the RECO information guide and review how real estate services are regulated in Ontario.
- Ask us anything. We’ll clarify the process and your options so you can move ahead knowing the process.
- Sign the acknowledgment on the last page confirming you received the guide.
This guide explains your rights and what to expect from a REALTOR®.
It is not a contract or a commitment to work with anyone.
What is the RECO information guide?
The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) regulates Ontario’s real estate industry under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2002. Before providing any services, REALTORS® must give you this guide and explain it so you understand your rights, available relationships, and the standards we follow. At Harris Homes, our goal is simple: clear advice, fair costs, and service that puts your interests first.
Is the guide a contract?
No. Reviewing or signing the acknowledgment does not obligate you to hire anyone. It confirms you received the information.
Why the acknowledgment matters
Until you acknowledge receipt of the guide, a REALTOR® generally cannot:
- Offer advice specific to your situation or professional opinions
- Show properties or prepare offers on your behalf
- Assist with decisions that rely on their expertise or judgment
